He blinks twice at her, no specific thought seeming to manifest for a full minute as he observes her response to his words– the only indication he was thinking anything at all was the slight furrowing of his brow after she’d first responded. Even as she’d seemed to brush off his remark eventually, she was his friend, and she hadn’t done it fast enough for him to not notice. Of course, because he was so infatuated with the idea of spicing things up with a bit of humour, he knew that she would understand he was joking; guilt still tugged at him though, and so he lets a moment tick by before offering a response.“Excuse me?” she huffs in mock disbelief, a brow raising at his statement as the slight hurt slowly becomes clear in her visage as seconds passed by. Of all the things he could have said, he’d so smartly chose those ones he just muttered and to make matters worse, she didn’t have an equally smart rebuttal with that. Good job, Lee Jaejin. Good freaking job. She was even all enthusiastic and eager earlier when he had called and invited her for a simple dinner. She’d even accepted it without a second thought because who is she to deny such offers especially when it’s been months since they last saw each other and chances like this would be considered a once in a blue moon event now since she had already debuted too. Too bad. The excitement went all down the drain just by his words alone. Stupid.
But of course being one that didn’t hold any grudges, it only took a few minutes for Halla to calm herself down and stop herself from sulking. It’s better to forgive and forget anyway especially for something so small as that. Her lower lip juts out in a small pout as she crosses both of her arms across her chest. “What can I do? These are the only ones that doesn’t scream idol among my clothes.” she mutters, reaching out a hand to poke the older’s forehead. “And please, you just have a weird perception at things. This does not look anything like a hobo. But if you still insist that it is, then let’s just forget about the restaurant and go to whoever’s dorm you want.” she eyes him expectantly, clearly hinting that the final decision would be his.
Promptly moving to reach for her face, hands squish at her cheeks in lieu of an apology for something so minor, and he coos, “Did you know I missed you? It’s been so-ooo long since we’ve seen each other. Halla, Halla, Halla~”
He releases her after uttering this, digits plucking at his own clothes somewhat self consciously as he hums a sound of agreement at her next words. As he does so, he murmurs, just on the left side of unintelligible, “I know what you mean. But if we’re being honest, I don’t have to try very hard.”
He glances back up at the younger female before making a face, continuing on a startled exhale, “What? No! We’re throwing a Halla and Jaejin party today. That party is here. Right now. It’s been way too long and we’re going to eat everything okay?”
